Our forest in France is located in the South, near the Mediterranian Sea, near Ruas.

The species composition of forests is dominated by deciduous species – in mass terms they account for 63.8% of the total stock of forest stands, in surface terms – 2/3 of the forest area. Deciduous forests dominate the lowlands, only the moorlands are covered with maritime pine. Coniferous forests occupy mountain areas and the Mediterranean zone. In terms of the stock, the share of oaks is 34%, beech – 12%, coastal pine, fir and Norway spruce – 8% each.


Many other species are also found, especially hornbeam, poplar, and chestnut. Pines, spruce, silver fir and Douglas fir are the most common conifers.
