In Europe virgin forests have disappeared almost entirely, Romania remains one of the last areas where you can visit these ancient forests.

Romania has some of the largest forests in Europe and a wide variety of tree species. Forests in Romania are mainly made up of deciduous species (69.3%) and conifers represent only 30.7% of the total forest area.

 

Examples of trees found in Romania: Black Locust, Scots pine, Silver poplar, Silver Rr, Pedunculate Oak, Norway Spruce and European beech.
